There is no reason to concatenate literal strings. Doing so is an exercise is reducing code readability. Instead, the strings should be combined. Similarly, literal strings should not be <code>append</code>ed to a <code>StringBuffer</code> or <code>StringBuilder</code> sequentially, but combined into one call.
